Your other Mac, from anywhere

Rig Mesh is a private network for your Macs. Once a Mac is on the mesh you can wake it, screen into it, and Teleport a running project to another machine. Traffic is encrypted device to device and does not pass through Rig. You pick the address range, name every Mac, and write what can reach what in sentences: Macs tagged trusted can reach studio on Screen Sharing. Wake needs a second Mac awake on that physical network to send the signal — one Mac alone in a house cannot be woken, and Rig says so instead of spinning. Mesh is not a browsing VPN: it does not change where you appear to be. Both ends need Rig. Macs only. No phone app and no Windows client. Included and unlimited during beta.

Mesh

Reach the Macs you’ve paired.

Wake one. See its screen. From the Mac you’re on.

01 · WakeWake it

A sleeping Mac stays on the list. Another Mac that is already awake sends the signal.

02 · ScreenSee its screen

Apple’s screen sharing, over Mesh. After a wake, you sign in at the lock screen.

03 · This MacFrom where you are

You start on the Mac you’re using. The others are the Macs you paired in Rig.

The walk

The Mac at home is asleep.

Wake, then it’s there

Then see the screen

studio-macScreen Lock screen. Sign in. Same as sitting there. Need the project, not the screen? Teleport moves it to this Mac.

Wake needs a second Mac

Something on that network has to be awake to send the signal. One Mac alone in a house can’t be woken. Rig tells you. It doesn’t spin.

Not a browsing VPN

This connects your Macs to each other. It doesn’t change where you appear to be.

Macs running Rig

Mesh is those Macs. There is no Windows Mesh client.

How addressing works

Your range. 10.10.0.0/24 if that’s what you like. Rig checks it doesn’t clash with the Wi-Fi you’re on.

Your names. studio-mac.rig works from any of your Macs — browser, SSH, file share.

Your rules. Group Macs into tags and write what each group can reach. Nothing else gets through.

  • Macs tagged trusted can reach studio on Screen Sharing.
  • Macs tagged studio can reach studio on everything.
  • Macs tagged personal can reach studio on nothing.

100.64.0.1 → .254 · 4 in use

Undo. A change that would lock you out reverts itself unless a Mac confirms it still works.

Two Macs. Ten minutes.

Pair them in Rig. Wake and screen come with that.
