The Mac app for local development
Rig is a Mac app for local development: a control plane that discovers, starts, stops, and watches every process in your project from one window. It groups scripts, Procfiles, Laravel artisan sidecars, and managed Postgres or Redis, streams their logs together, and owns the ports they bind so you stop running lsof. A local MCP hub lets Cursor, Claude, Codex, Windsurf, or VS Code read health, logs, and ports, and restart a crashed service without a raw shell. Your source code stays on disk. Optional Rig Cloud syncs catalog metadata, Live Links, and encrypted Continuity backups across Macs — never the repo. Rig is not a hosted IDE, not a cloud coding VM, and not a PHP runtime. Laravel Herd and Valet still serve PHP; Rig sits beside them when you also run Vite, queues, APIs, and AI agents. The Mac app is free in beta for Apple Silicon and Intel on macOS 13 or later.
