The Continuity recovery key ritual
Continuity backs up setup shape — env profiles, ports, catalog — encrypted on device before upload. Restore needs your recovery key. Lose the key, lose the restore. That is intentional.
Ritual that works
- Generate the key once when you enable Continuity
- Store it in 1Password / Bitwarden / printed vault
- Never paste it into chat, tickets, or screenshots
