When to stay local-only on purpose

Rig cloud syncs preferences, groups, and catalog metadata. It does not sync your repo. Still: optional means you can refuse.

Stay local-only if you are under a contract that bans any cloud control plane, if the Mac never leaves a locked room, or if you simply do not want another account.

What you still get offline

• Local process control, ports, logs
• MCP hub on loopback
• Live Link over the relay only when you opt in
