Rig vs Laravel Valet

Laravel Valet parks *.test sites on your Mac with nginx and DNS. Rig does not replace that job. It detects Valet URLs, opens the site, and runs the rest of the stack: Vite, queue workers, Horizon, schedulers, logs, ports, and a local MCP hub. Keep Valet for parked PHP sites. Add Rig when you are tired of juggling artisan and Vite terminals, or when Cursor should see the live project. Valet stays thinner if you only need a site URL. Rig is the control plane beside Valet, not instead of it.
