Managed Postgres and Redis
Rig can run managed local Postgres and Redis for projects that need them — so you are not juggling a separate DB app for every repo.
Enable a managed database
- Open the project → database / services panel (or Setup).
- Choose Postgres and/or Redis.
- Set host, user, password, and port (defaults are fine for solo work).
- Start the DB; confirm the status pill shows running.
- Point your app
.envat those credentials (or let Rig write them when offered).
Status and restart
Use the DB status control to see if Postgres/Redis is up, then Restart if a migration hung the connection. Prefer Restart in Rig over killing Docker containers by hand when Rig owns the instance.
Persistence
Connection settings persist with the project across quit/reopen. If ports change, re-save endpoints so generated URLs stay in sync.
