Install Rig on Mac

Rig is a macOS app (13+), Apple Silicon and Intel. Prefer the install command during beta — it picks the right architecture and avoids some Gatekeeper friction on unsigned builds.

Copy from the download page if you want the one-liner next to the latest version string.

Install from DMG

  1. Download the arm64 or Intel DMG from userig.app/download.
  2. Open the DMG and drag Rig into Applications.
  3. Launch from Applications (first open may need right-click → Open).

Gatekeeper / “unidentified developer”

Beta builds may not be Developer ID–notarized yet. If macOS blocks the app: System Settings → Privacy & Security → allow Rig, or right-click the app → Open once. The curl installer is usually smoother.

First launch

  1. Grant any folder or network prompts you need for your projects.
  2. Add a project — see Add a project and start it.
  3. Optional: create a cloud account later for Live Link, sync, and Continuity.
