Rig for Windows is the same desktop product as Mac: local runtime, MCP, Cloud, Docker databases, and Mesh (this PC is a node — Remote Desktop on Windows, Screen Sharing on Mac).
Download the signed NSIS installer from{" "} userig.app/download {" "} (x64). Auto-updates use{" "} https://userig.app/releases/latest.yml — not GitHub Releases.
- No Laravel Valet — use Herd, Laragon, scoop PHP, or XAMPP the way Mac uses Valet/Herd/Homebrew.
- Screen into a Windows node uses Remote Desktop (port 3389), not VNC.
- BitLocker is never unlocked remotely. Hibernation with Wake-on-LAN disabled stays an honest limit.
- Mesh E2E on your LAN still needs the join binaries packaged (see the Windows Mesh spike checklist in the desktop app docs).
